I just bought a Dell 640m but I do not like the preloaded Vista. I reformatted the disk and installed Windows XP. For whatever reason, the CD that comes with my laptop does not come with all the drivers. I went to Dell's website, but still did not find all the drivers needed. Now my computer is lacking network controller driver (thus, it cannot even connect to internet), wireless driver, sound, video.... What should I do?

I have a linksys wifi router connected directly to the cable modem. I have a belkin wifi router connected to the linksys - the belkin's IC jack is connected to one of the 4 linksys ports. All appropriate LED's are lit or blinking.

Linksys: 192.168.1.1 subnet: 255.255.255.0 ch. auto
Belkin: 192.168.2.1 subnet 255.255.255.128 ch: 11
Both have different SSID and both are WEP 64bit encrypted.

When I connect to the LINKSYS I get internet. When I connect to the BELKIN, I have a strong wi-fi connection but no internet.

Do I have to change more settings on the BELKIN? Are they still competing for the same channel, etc?

I was wondering if it's possible to do that? Like I have 2 PCs in my house. PC #1 has the DSL modem and the wireless router. I have a NETGEAR WGT 624 v3 Wireless Router. As for PC #2 (which is the one I use) is being connected by wireless internet and I used a USB adapter that is the NETGEAR WG111T for PC #2. My ISP is SBC Yahoo! DSL and I download at 155 kb/sec and upload at 40 kb/sec and I'm located in Northern California. Is there anything else to buy besides the CAT 5E or 6 cord? I'm planning to buy the CAT 6 cord since it's the only cord that I found that is flat enough to go through doors.

My other computer is in my office and I cant find a chord that reaches that far. I'm using a wireless network connected to a router at home and via LAN in my office. I've been doing this for quite some time until suddenly I can't access Yahoo Messenger using the wireless network at home but the connection still allows me to access my other browsers, e.g. Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, and my Lotus Notes emails stored in our office mail server. I can still access Yahoo using my WeRoam card (wireless network connection) though. I've already tried all connection preferences and even changed my password but served futile.

I'm going to explain how to be able to access your "portal" from anywhere in the world using a combination of the DNS/HTTP setup but with a Proxy and a DynamicDNS account so that you won't need to worry about static IP addresses.
