Yes there are such adapters that connect two ethernet cables together. Check with your computer hardware shop or the net.
But it may be more cost effective to just buy a longer cable.

you can get an inline connector for about $3. this would introduce a failure point, but would work.
your best bet is to buy a longer cable for about $4-20 depending on how long you need to go

A longer cord would be better. Using an adapter would result in some loss of signal.
