The server in our school crashed down before, what are the other way of preventing them from happening again.

Well servers like anyother computer will crash, the best plan is to have a backup so you can recover (most) of the information. There are none that can claim to be 100% crash free. Hardware breaks, harddrives fail (can be improved with RAID), memory fails, motherboards fail, so machines will crash. Software also fails on occassion.

You didn't say what operating system you are running. Personnally I have found linux to be a little better at staying online than Windows. With either you still need a backup for the server. You can setup two servers, one live, one backup, if the live one fails just start using the backup, then recover the "dead" machine and copy the files back from the backup.
