dear u can connect your machine w/o lan card . u should be nul modem its a cable u can connect it on your machine serial port both of system have to be serial port

Hell yeah it is.
You can use Ad-Hoc connection. It's a wireless connection, so you would need wireless adapters on both computers. When one computer is connected to the Internet, another one can share the Internet connection thru' Ad-Hoc.
Or maybe you have a router? Do the computers have wireless adapters? Ugh, why can't you just give us MORE info? Anyways, if you have a router and wireless adapters on both computers then it is still possible to setup a Local Area Network.
Look the terms up in Yahoo! Search and you'll find lots of tutorials on setting em up according to your OS, router brand and etc. Don't be lazy!

you can connect two computers without LAN card ... Use your serial port
Connect ur computers back to back using serial cable on serial port
Go to Network places ,you have option connecting computer using serial port ...which will help
.....for accessing u can use hyperterminal.

If you have a wireless connection then yes, you can connect the two computers but not with a cable...
