SunRocket VOIP = http://www.sunrocket.com = is less than $17 per month bottom line when you pay annually ($199). They include all of the features of Vonage and then some. You get two phone numbers for each line so you can give your family one number and the public another. With mine, one ring means the call is personal, double rings are business calls. The $199 is the TOTAL price. Vonage is $24.95 plus about 10% in extra fees & taxes. SunRocket includes 2 free Directory Assistance calls, not Vonage. SunRocket gives you a $3 allowance each month for international calls and their international rates are 20-25% cheaper than Vonage. SunRocket is 3 cents/minute to 30 countries plus 11 key cities , so that's 100 free minutes to Australia, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan or the UK. I call Jamaica a lot for only 10 cents per minute. SunRocket includes VoiceMail with forwarding or notification via email, IM etc. They also provide callerID with name, call waiting with ID, 3-way calling, speed dial, find me, do not disturb, return call, call forwarding, 7-digit dialing, with online call logs of inbound, outbound and missed calls. Unlike Vonage, the SunRocket Gizmo (VOIP) adapter is free, shipped free and there is no activation fee. If you arent' happy any time during the first 31 days and you cancel, the only cost will be to ship the Gizmo back. If you cancel anytime later during the year, you get a pro-rated refund for the unused period with no penalty. SunRocket fully supports E911 Another thing to consider is that DSL would prevent you from using your house's phone wires to share the VOIP with all of your existing extensions, unless you disconnected the DSL jack from all of the other internal wiring. If you're on cable modem, you can disconnect your internal wiring from the phone company entirely, so the 50v current won't fry the Gizmo. Then you can plug the Gizmo into any wall outlet near the cable modem and all of your extensions will be able to place calls using VOIP. If you have both DSL & cable available in your area, the cable company will often match the DSL price (except for Verizon's 14.95-19.95 for only 768K). My total bill for Comcast cable (4Mbit) is $29.95 for the next 12 months and when that runs out, I'll get them to match DSL again. SunRocket works out to $16.58/month, so my total is under $47. I have had SunRocket since last May and I couldn't be any happier unless it was free. Right now, new customers get a free 2-handset wireless phone system that can handle up to 4 handsets without the need to use your house wiring. If you don't need a lot of speed, combine that with $19.95 DSL and your total cost could be under $38/month for unlimited North American calling and 768K DSL internet access. (Verizon 768K DSL is $14.95 with local phone service or $19.95 without - called naked or dry DSL and I think SBC is offering the same thing.)

Skype is a little piece of software that lets you make free calls to anyone else on Skype, anywhere in the world. And even though the calls are free, they are really excellent quality. If you and your friends, family or business contacts are using webcams, you can also make free video calls. = http://pack.google.com/intl/en/product_info.html?sky

The best one right now for both individuals and companies, from my experience is voipfibre. I have used voipdiscount, actionvoip, skype, but nothing provides better customer service and cheapest rates. Go with this one,

VoIP is a cheaper alternative to land lines because they do not require a separate technology to implement and quality-wise they do not offer as much as telephones.
