Not much info on the brand of router, however you can buy relatively inexpensive (say about $35) Hi-Gain antennas from electronics stores such as Circuit City, Radio Shack or Best Buy. That would be what I would do since it would involve only replacing the antennas on the router. Ultimately it is your choice, but the simpler the item you buy, the less chance of a configuration/placement problem. Directional antennas can be a great option IF you are going to always be in the same spot and not move far left or right of the antenna's field of view. I suggest you try replacing the normal, stock antenna(s) on the router with High-gain antenna(s) first, as they are far less costly (around $30-40) than a repeater (around $70-100). 2 reasons for this are: 1. Simple to do and can be done in about 5 seconds per antenna; and 2: Repeaters usually require an outlet to be nearby to work. After all, if you can get something that will work for $1, why pay more for the same functionality?
