I have had this problem for the last few months and its really getting on my case. I have a Wireless router which i use to connect my laptop to. I play world of warcraft so a wireless connection is slow. So i take the Cable wire that is connected to my Ps2 (which is able to get online) and connect it to my Laptops Ethernet Port. I then try to access the internet but it will not connect. Several times it has said "conflicting ip address" other times it says "connected" but recieves no data" I have reseted the router and that has not fixed the problem. Also I have taken the lan cable out of the back of a computer that was able to access the web but that didnt work either. I know it has worked before because I had used a Lan before wireless but now it seems that my computer hates Lan cable. Anyone else have this problem and was able to fix?

Background - two pc's ... one in main home office connected to Westell Versalink gateway (no problem with this one) ... second pc in daughter's bedroom using wireless - g usb adaptor plugged into usb port. Keep getting a message on daughter's pc that says "network cable unplugged" and it will not connect to the internet. Had the wrong kind of usb adaptor "n" that barely received a signal, but would still connect to the internet. We corrected the adaptor issue and we are receiving a great signal now, but the connectivity is not there. I have no idea what the problem is, but we need this computer online for school. Can someone please help? I've read the previous posts for this kind of problem, but to no avail! Help!

I recently got ATT Yahoo DSL at home and want to purchase an USB adapter (wireless) for my Dell desktop.

The question I have is:

-Will any USB adapter work?
-If not, which one would.

I am completely confused with the whole 54Mps/108Mps/300Mps, etc.

I just want to make sure what I purchase will work for me :)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My service is: Downstream: 1.5 to 3.0 Mbps; Upstream: 384 to 512 Kbps

Thanks!

I have a network with 4 computers running XP in it. I just connected my Vista laptop to it so I could go on the internet and share files between computers (worgroup). The vista connects to the internet, but the only computer it sees is the media extender of my XP desktop! I tried making new workgroup and renaming them on all comps but it still doesn't work. First person to get me all the way through gets 10 points!!!
