You have to pay an Internet Service Provider for this connection. When you have the necesssry wireless connection box to your phone you can then gain wireless connection, but the software has to be loaded into your laptop. I have a Fujitsu Siemens and wireless BT connection. You have to press the blue Fn button and the F2 button to switch to wireless. Annoying but FJ do not keep the wireless switched on and you have to re-connect each time you have been switched off.

The easiest way is simply to look at the icons in the tray next to the clock. It should have two computer icons. One is the local area connection probably with a cross on it, while the second will display a text box saying Wireless Network Connection. Double clicking this icon will display a configuration dialogue box. If the laptop is less than two years old the odds are it is wireless.

start button ,settings network connections it will have wireless and local area to double check you have wireless start settings
control panel system then look in device manager and check in network adapters it should have a wireless item if you have wireless on the pc.
if your laptop is able to go wireless you need to purchase a router which attached to the modem will let you have a wireless network in your home.

if you don't have wireless you can buy a card for your laptop to make it able to be wireless and you still need the router
