I have a network with 4 computers running XP in it. I just connected my Vista laptop to it so I could go on the internet and share files between computers (worgroup). The vista connects to the internet, but the only computer it sees is the media extender of my XP desktop! I tried making new workgroup and renaming them on all comps but it still doesn't work. First person to get me all the way through gets 10 points!!!

i just did it few week ago when vista came out. First turn all of ur firewall off. And the norton and make sure they have safe on on the Xp comps. Then go to control panel then newtork and sharing then Have Network Discovery on Custon. File Sharing 'ON'. Password protected sharing off. Then make sure your computer are all on the network. Then link on ur router name and wait until they come up. NOTE somethings its take time for the computer to find them even when the loading isn't showing.

MY XP machine is a HOME.
