I have thought about it for a long time now and i want other peoples ideas on it. Someone told me to go careful with Belkins and Linksys systems because they are a bit dodgy. Is this true??

We own a deli. I want to open up my wireless for free. Is there a front end program that I can put up a splash screen and let them log into my wifi. I will not charge but I only want to let the people in the deli use the wifi. If my neighbors are using my wifi, I want to be able to boot them off, essentially making it a hassle for them. This wouldnt be all the time but I want to monitor who is on the system at any given time. There are programs out there but they are all for cyber cafes and people who are charging for them to access.

Hello,

I've been trying to set up my PSP to connect to the internet through my DLink G604T router, but have had no luck. I can't see an option in port forwarding or anything.

Has anyone managed to do this before? Any help greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

J

I know how to make it manually, by lining up the colored wires on both jacks. Is there any simple (reasonably priced) machine that can do this.

Thanks

If all ISPs made you use their equipment, it would be pointless to sell that equipment in stores. Earthlink can't track any modems but the ones they provide, which I don't understand. IT professionals have told me that any ISP should be able to supply service to any modem. What am I missing here?

i have ntl broadband which is all ok. I have another line which was put upstairs in my bedroom this was installed with ntl as well. when i put my pc upstairs with the modem i use downstairs it will not connect to the internet but i have checked the connection status in the control panel and it says it is connected i have also pinged my ip address and all packets are sent and received. i have called ntl but as usual i speak to someone that can hardly speak English. please help. do i need to re-install my broadband upstairs as i thought the cable was an extension and i would not have to do this.

thanx

p.s no offence about the English part but i have a strong Glasgow accent and people in the UK find it hard to understand it, and when you are paying for a premium rate call it can be frustrating

I just inherited a a 2 yr old desktop replacement Toshiba laptop in great condition. It's 512 RAM, P4, Win XP, Wiresless card. I plugged it into my cable internet connection directly but it still does not connect to the net. The connections icon shows the presence of network signal but when I try to "repair" the connection it gives me a message- "TCP/IP not enabled- cannot proceed". Any suggestions?
