If you are networked there in the office there is no need for another modem. You can use a standard straight through network cable that you can buy for about $5 at any electronics store. All you will need to do is use this cable to plug the laptop into one of the network ports you have in your office.

You could also go wireless connection but that would mean getting a wireless router and setting that up for your network. Easiest route would be to use the cable. Good Luck.

A lot of new laptops already have wireless networking cards included, then all you need to buy is a wireless router (50-60 bucks) and 'voila'.

If the laptop didn't come with a wireless card, they are cheap too, and simple to install.

If you have an existing network, you can just add it like the other machines, but then it won't be as portable.

just add another network card to a desktop and share the internet connection. Link the new network card to the laptop.
