I can get online and use internet services just fine. But i cannot see my network in-house, nor access laptop from Hardwired CPUs. The hardwired network works just fine. Am i missing a setup step or a protocol setting? Can you walk me throughit, because even tho i am hardware savvy, this one has me beat because of the wireless factor. Can you kindergarten me through it? Thanks in advance

This is unusual. My laptop connects perfectly to my wireless network at the office, using a D-Link. I am trying to set up a wireless network at home, and have tried 2 routers - a Trennet and a Linksys. Each says I have connected to the internet with a "good" connection, but nothing comes across on the screen.

When I connect the DSL modem directly to the computer, it works perfectly.

It pings on direct modem connect, does not ping on wireless connect.

Something is interfering somewhere on my try to set up a home network

Any ideas? Can I set yo the modem (192.168.1.1) manually?

I bought a linksys wireless-g usb network adapter recently and haven't been able to get it to work. I'm trying to install it on an old Gateway computer using Windows 98. I've already tried using the guide that came with the adapter, but it didn't work.
I go to the device manager and find the adapter disabled.
I then went to the adapter properties and under device status i find.
The NDIS, VXD, NTKERN, VXD device loader(s) for this device could not load the device driver. (Code 2.)

To fix this, click update driver to update the device driver.

I then click update driver and it brings me back to the same problem.

Is there any other way to install the adapter?

This has been driving me crazy. I am using the Cisco Systems VPN Client and it's unable to make a connection to the server. After some fiddling with settings, the client still cannot establish a connection. I have turned off the Belkin Firewall and enabled DMZ. However, I do not know how to enable IPsec Passthrough, and I think this may be the reason I cannot access VPN. Can anyone help?

Okay I have a NETGEAR Wireless Router and a CABLE Internet Connection but don't know how to connect the two.

Do I have to run the INSTALLATION CD BEFORE I HOOK UP THE MODEM TO THE ROUTER? Or do I just hook the modem into the router then run the installation CD?

I have tried to run the Installation CD before hooking anything up but it keeps stalling.

I need specific step by step instructions on what to do next...PLEASE HELP!

Hey there,

I'm trying to set up a VPN for a new business. I've read lots of documentation but I can't find some basics

In the office we have a Windows Server 2003 R2 hooked up to a DSL Router via a network switch, as is 3 other computers in the office (all through the network switch). The Windows Server does have 2 NICs but only one is in operation at the moment.

I cannot figure out how to set up the network so that the Windows Server can be a VPN server, with an address accessible to the internet. At the moment the ISP issued router is using DHCP to assign addresses to all of the computers on our network, including the Windows Server. I would prefer it if the VPN Access were like my old university VPN (ala vpngate.net.ed.ac.uk) instead of a bog-standard IP address.

I would like to keep the network switch active so that if the server goes down the other computers in the office still have internet, but if the Windows Server must be the DHCP server, so be it.

Thanks in advance!
