How do I get rid of this box, I do not have the user name or password and I can access the internet regardless of the user name or password. I am connected to the internet through another computer?

Sound to me like your browser is trying to connect to a proxy that wants a username or password, or that your home page for the browser is asking for it. If you are using IE click tools internet options.
The default tab will have your home page. Change it to google.com or some other page. To see if there is a proxy click the connections tab and on the bottom right, I think, there is a button labled LAN click that and delete what ever IP address is in the proxy box and configuration scripts.

If that doesn't work then do a scan for spyware like CCleaner or adaware, you could have some evil stuff on the computer trying to prompt you for any of your usernames and passwords.

Do not entertain the box that keeps popping up. Just switch it off otherwise the minute you touch it you allow a virus or adware onto your system, disastrous. Use good spyware and virus protection like Norton. Be careful! With BT Broadband they actually include Norton Antivirus with their package.
