each ISP (Internet service provider) will have some number of numbers (the number will depend on how many numbers they purchase). when you join/subscribe with that ISP then they will make available the numbers. when you join a ISP (ex: AOL-Peoplepc-etc.) you are required to provide them with a user name and a password. the use of this user name and password allows you to dial this number and go online-if it is broadband (this includes wireless/cable/DSL) you do the same thing as far as user name and password)
the only exception is wireless provided by an establishment (like cyber coffee houses-Starbuck's etc.) where you go to the establishment and can use their wireless-either free or for a fee-but you must take your computer with you and it must be wireless compatible.

You can't just ask for a dial up number because you need to provide authentication in the form of a user name and password in order to use the dial up access. If you need an internet connection, check out at&t yahoo or a company in your area. If you have an internet company, you will need to contact them in order to get a list of access numbers.

Ask your ISP. They'll let you know what they are.
