It's great for DSL, but the download speed is horrible for cable. This is only 1mbps, where cable is anywhere from 3-8mbps. The upload is nice, since normally uploads are around 384kbps for cable.
As for wireless, it's not that great considering an 802.11g connection should average around 25-38mbps.
If you mean 1180 kilobytes and 680 kilobytes, you are using the wrong abbreviations. Kilobytes is KBps or Kbps. kbps is kilobits per scond.

I think it is a very good speed. There may be many reasons for not getting an internet connection. It depends upon the system configuration and the type of the connection. Many of the problems can be solved by making software changes or small hardware corrections. i agree! that is a very good connection you have there, My experiance with wireless showed it to be bretty unstable and not worth the hassle, but if that is ur regular average upload/download then you are obviously doing something right!

quite so if it's kilobytes, it it's kilobits, then here's the numbers: 147.5 kbps down and 85kbps up. The rival of a DSL connection to say the least.

That download is middling, not bad not great. That upload is excellent -- about 3x the typical speed.

those are definetly decent numbers...
Tech note for all readers:
don't expect to ever see transfer rates anywhere close to the maximum advertised rates for network devices. when running traffic at wire speed UDP packets are used and Layer 2 switching...

That is pretty good speeds. Not many companies can guarantee you that speed at all times and at all locations.

I don't know. I have broadband, and my 54Mbps is considered slow, but I have the lowest priced internet my cable company has to offer.
