My laptop can recognize the signal my router (netgear wgt624) is sending out but cannot connect. When I select the network it requests a Network Key (and confirmation). I am using 64 bit WEP encryption, the router generates four 10 digit keys. I've tried each one of these without success.

Is there some other key I am not providing? If so can someone tell me where I can find this?

I have an existing small workgroup named FABULOUS. I try to add 1 PC to the workgroup.
On the taskbar show that im connected to the LAN.
I also make sure that the workgroup name are the same (FABULOUS)

I try to access the network places, but it seems that im not connected to the existing workgourp (FABULOUS). But on network places, there is the workgroup name (FABULOUS) and the only member is itself.

I also try to PING the other computer from the new and vise versa, but the result is “Reply timeout” means not connected.

What should I do?

Can I use my laptop outside my house. I used it at a family members house 6 miles away and cannot get a connection. My laptop says that the signal strength is low. Is it possible to get a connection from my house, since I have a wireless connection at home? What do I need to do? I know the distance is far, but I figured, in this day and age, this would be easy to do?
