You have to relaod your operating system - you need to get a windows xp cd or the cd to whatever operating system you have on your computer and then put that in - it will clean out whatever you had before you reload windows.

Make sure to backup all of your data before you do this

You have 2 easy choices.

1) if you have the original restore disk from the manufacturer, you can use that disk to restore your computer back to the same way that it came from the factory (all the original applications, drivers, etc...)

2) Visit you manufacturer's web site before you proceed and download all custom device drivers for your particular computer model. If you do not have the restore disk, you will need an installation disk for Window, boot your computer from the Windows install CD and proceed to format and re-install windows. If you go this route, you will also need to re-install all of your applications, and may need to re-install new drivers that do not ship w/ Windows.

you have to reformat your computer with a windows xp or the coming out windows vista. When the computer restarts, it should detect it if the motherboard settings are set to boot in this order: floppy drive, then the cd drive and last the hard drive.

ps: dont touch the motherboard settings if the computer boots from the cd first.

dont worry about the floppy drive, you dont need it.

if you have to set the motherboard settings, dont rearrange everything or anything except the cd drive before the hard drive

but if your computer is from hp, you can use destructive recovery

take it to like a computer shop and have them do it. It's expensive but then again they make sure that they get everything you don't want off there completly. Not just off the screen and trash bin. They take the computer apart and blah blah blah. But they are experienced with that kind of stuff so I would take it to a computer shop and just pay how much that it is!
