If a notebook card states that it has transfer rates up to 54mbps and 2.4g operating range, and a desktop card says the same, than are they equal? doesn't the big antenna infer anything on the desktop card, such as greater distances??

Is 54Mbps fast? Does this just refer to the transfer rate from the router to the card? If so, is that faster than the transfer rate that a lot of companies offer for their internet services (e.g. "A blazing 10 Mbps transfer rate!"), even though the service's speed is prob. more impt.? Lastly, would it matter what speed of card i get (e.g., 54 mbps, 108 mbps, etc.) if the internet service isn't any faster than 10 mbps????? Thanks

Here's what I don't understand: The company I thought had fast transfer rates (I thought up to 100 Mbps was showing when I looked at my connection) is advertising for 10Mbps and saying that its fast...is it? Why do wireless cards claim such high speeds (e.g. 54Mbps) if there's no service that provides such fast transfer. Basically, is there something different about that (company's) speed than on the wireless cards' advertisements? Is 10 Mbps fast for a service?

Thanks

Call me crazy, but I think that myspace.com is simply a massive marketing scheme. At this point it is owned by News Corp. News Corp. is one of 6 huge corporations (the others are Viacom, NBC, Disney, Sony, and of course AOL Time Warner) that own nearly all media outlets in the U.S. including almost all major newspapers, record companies, radio stations, television channels, publishing companies, etc. (check out http://www.cjr.org/tools/owners/newscorp.asp for more info). Anyway, these "Big 6" Corporations dropped from 10 to 6 in less than a decade, and seem to be narrowing down even more. Many people using myspace.com don't realize who owns. If users display all of th music, films, tv shows, etc. that they enjoy as well as posting pictures to display how they like to be portrayed to the rest of th world, don't you think this is a fool-proof marketing tool for News Corp?

I got a new netgear wireless router for my laptop. When I try and connect it to my Westell Model6100, I do not get an internet connection. I am using Verizon DSL. What could be the problem?

I got told that I need to configure a PPoE server and turn DCHP off. I turned DCHP off put I cannot find the PPoE server settings.

I downloaded the new messanger service where you can talk to people from msn and yahoo.... and for some reason it's not allowing my friends that are on msn to appear online even when I know that they are online... does anyone know why this is? Do they have to have yahoo email accounts, because that would be redundant if the two companies really wanted to combine the two, please help!
