Firstly let me say im totally against racism thus this is not aimed at indian nationals............ Bt own 3/4 of the telecommunications market in the uk yet when i try and sort a problem out with my broadband i eventually get through to someone in india (its where bt like to direct there problems ) with whom i have incredible difficulty in understanding as there english isnt great so i find it an impossible task to undergo and give up. It isnt the indian nationals fault they've been given a job to do and do it to the best of there ability so they're not to blame but i guess people in india would'nt be very happy if english people were answering there problems in there native tongue. To make things worse my insurance company for my car also have indian people answering customer queries. I love all nationalities and have some great friends from all over the world and chat to them regularly but im surely not the only one that this happens to .......whats your angle on this?

I am the IT engineer in an organisation where there is a programm that can only run under NT environment. Now a new PC has just been bought which runs XP and there is the need to have the second Pc run a copy of the same programm but with the NT administering it, therefore I need to link both so that the NT would administer or control the application usage by the XP user. Therefore I wish to know/ find out if NT Server can administer an XP workstation\client or can the NT and XP interoperate only under a peer-peer network environment sharing files and other resources with no one acting as the server.Can I have the Xp run as a client under NT Server or Workstation? Help me!

i have the code to hide them already. i want to put my profile on PUBLIC instead of private but i dont want people to read my comments or see my friends list. even if you hide them with the HTML codes you could still see you friends and comments by changing the URL at the top of the internet box. so i want to know how to hide my comments and friends so i could put my profile on public but not have people read friends or comments.

I've never done this before. I'm using a Westell model 6100 that came with my Verizon DSL package and a Netgear wireless router. I'm trying to get my connection running to my laptop.

I had everything connected, all the lights that need to be on are, but I cannot get the internet through the router. When I plug everything in as normal, I get internet.

Here's what I do, like it says on the CD. I unplugged the ethernet cable that ran from the modem to the computer and plugged it into the internet port of the router. I then used the cable that was included with my router to run an ethernet cord from one of the router's LAN ports over to my desktop.When I run the internet through the router, however, I get no internet on my Laptop OR desktop.

I even went to the 192.168.1.1 site to connect to the router and finished all the steps. It said that I succesfully completed setup, and that I should have internet access but I did not. Help me, PLEASE!!

I have Windows XP SP2, and I ran a port scanning utility to see if I have any open ports. Port 68 was listed as "closed," is there anyway I can open it? I have went to my firewall options and added it as an exception, and then even went as far as to disable my firewall. It still says the port is "closed." Any help on opening it?
