I am the IT engineer in an organisation where there is a programm that can only run under NT environment. Now a new PC has just been bought which runs XP and there is the need to have the second Pc run a copy of the same programm but with the NT administering it, therefore I need to link both so that the NT would administer or control the application usage by the XP user. Therefore I wish to know/ find out if NT Server can administer an XP workstation\client or can the NT and XP interoperate only under a peer-peer network environment sharing files and other resources with no one acting as the server. Can I have the Xp run as a client under NT Server or Workstation? Help me!

If you setup a network domain with an NT server, you should be able to establish a machine trust between the server and client. As far as being able to "administer" the xp machine, that can have very different meanings. If you mean change settings, then you can do that within the network domain, however if you mean physically see the screen, you can do that with Remote Desktop on the xp machine. Also, as NT is unsupported by microsoft, I would serioiusly look at finding a replacement for that program so that you can migrate to Windows 2000/XP workstations and Windows Server 2003.

in case you want to place in domicile windows NT an even have the XP, could desire to make a partition on your HDD or placed yet another HDD to place in the different OS in new partition or HDD, or only deploy the NT over the XP
