Just re installing windows all together will do that for you. Even if its the same one you have or windows xp!! Make sure you have a firewall and anti-virus installed on there when you re load windows. And get cable internet, not dial up!!

First do an entire test of your computing gadget with a sturdy anti-virus.Uncheck each little thing in initiate-up and enable run purely your firewall and anti-virus do complete deep test with anti malaware and than attempt back.it is a hidden virus that it won't be able to be descovered from the 1st attempt.many times the trojans make your domicile windows freeze.

not necessarily, it all depends on whether your hardware can handle it

but it sounds to me as if you have a virus or spyware and that you have a lot of background programs running eating up ur memory

my suggestion is
backup your files
reformat
reinstall windows
put back all your files
download what you need
update windows and all your software and hardware
get a good firewall, anti virus programs like norton anti virus or mcaffee, anti spyware programs like lavasoft's adaware and spybot search and destroy
get mozilla firefox as your browser and security extensions
get ccleaner to remove your temp files
get registry mechanic or another registry cleaner to fix the clutter in ur registry
set it up so your anti virus, anti spyware, and cleaners run on certain type of schedule, i suggest weekly or better
go into start menu > run > msconfig and deselect everything that automatically starts up except for anti virus stuff (should google what they are)
back all this up so the next time ur compy gets all crappy, you can just start over from this and then update everything
keep everything up to date
