Dynamic IP - When an IP address is provided to any computer at run time through any process it is called Dynamic IP

Static IP - When an IP is assigned to the computer (hard coded) from network properties then it is treated as a static IP.

Example - The best ex. of this you can see when you connect to internet, each time your ISP (Internet Service Provider) gives you a different IP address This is Dynamic IP.
But If you dont wanted that your IP change again and again then you can demand static IP address from your ISP (may be there will some cost for it) When you use static IP your IP doesnt change when you connect to internet. (It is required when you wanted to host some thing on your computer)

dynamic ip addresses are addresses assigned by a central server, usually a DHCP server. Static IP addresses are specified manually, so they never change. In a webhosting environment, web servers need static ip addresses because of the issues of DNS. DNS changes a domain name (ie www.joecooter.com) to a specific ip address. If the ip address is dynamic, and it changes, then the dns record for the website will no longer be pointed at the right ip address, therefore the website will not load.

Dynamic IP is when you are assigned a new IP address upon log in. So you are pulling from a pool of IPs. A static IP means that your ID will give you the same IP address each time. Dynamic is more secure.

Dynamic IP is usually assigned to workstations rather than servers and has a certain time period wherein the IP is assigned...three days is the usual window but it can be configured differently. After that the pc signing on gets a new IP...this is usually used for devices that move around or can get replaced or changed without supervision. Static IP is usually used for servers...the lease never expires....the IP remains the same unless the administrators change it.

A static IP as implied by the name stays the same each time your computer goes on the network. A dynamic IP is an IP that is refreshed after a session expires or after a preset time period. This system requires a DHCP server on your network. You will have no control on what your dynamic IP is, however the static IP you have to specify yourself.

A dynamic IP is one that would change versus a static IP will not change.

Websites can have dynamic IP addresses by using a dynamic hosting solution such as services like http://dhs.org or http://dynip.com

A static IP address is a number (in the form of a dotted quad) that is assigned to a computer by an Internet service provider (ISP) to be its permanent address on the Internet.

The temporary IP address is called a dynamic IP address.

Dynamic IP will request, and receive, a new IP address every time it connects to the server.

A static IP will always use the same ip address from the server.

Dynamic IP is assigned to a client by DHCP server and will get expired at stipulated time as defined on DHCP server. Static IP does not expire.
