My computer is password protected on a network but when i tried to remove the computer from the network and use it someplace else, it keeps asking from my password. The password doesn't work until I hook it back into the network. How do i change the computer so that it doesn't ask for the network password anymore?

I was given IP address and server name and told to 'Renew SID'; I have no idea what this means (I know what the SID is, but I cannot find anything on Microsofts site on how to 'renew' a server's SID).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beowulf_cluster

Since I figured out that my major was going to be computer programming rather than networking or anything else, I've ALWAYS been curious about something. I've always wanted to be able to set up a Beowulf Cluster, but I've never had enough machines to do it. I now have some old junk machines at the house with like 8 hard drives in them total, and since the interface for the hard drives is IDE and not SATA, I don’t really want to get an adapter, ect.

Anyway can someone tell me what their experience was setting up a Beowulf cluster? What amount of experience with Linux/Unix should you have (I currently have none), what are some good home applications? Such as creating your own cheap stand alone server, streaming media, ect.

I've moved to a new apartment and my computer has picked up some nearby wi-fi networks, but they are secured. I want to share their broadband connection without setting up a contract with BT or anyone else. I would be willing to pay to share their access but I don't know who they are! So does anyone know how I can find or communicate with them?

My buddy is switching from Cable internet to DSL internet and he isn't sure if he should take their modem and later get a router and adapter or else take their gateway and then later get an adapter.

He also thinks that VW has issued the new Rabbit as a sham and says that it is the same thing as the VW Golf, with just a new name slapped on back.

Any advice on good pizza places located near West Hartford, Connecticut ?

I have the router installed in my basement as the whole house is wired with Cat 5 cable and all the drops are in the basement.
Is it possible to add a gateway? new antenna? or some other device to extend the range to cover deadspots I have?
OR should I use a wired router in the basement and use a wireless access point at one of the central locations on the first or second floor of my home?

I'm at this hotel, and one day the signal reads perfect; the pages load instantly. Then, all of a sudden, the signal drops down much lower and pages take forever, sometimes not loading at all. Then suddenly the signal will go back to full strength (sometimes not until hours or days later, but sometimes right away).

Anyone know what causes this? I want to be able to sound smart when I call up to whine about this.
