My computer is password protected on a network but when i tried to remove the computer from the network and use it someplace else, it keeps asking from my password. The password doesn't work until I hook it back into the network. How do i change the computer so that it doesn't ask for the network password anymore?

Remove the network settings while connected to the network if you still have access. You could always back up your data / settings and reformat too. That would be my choice even though it takes longer it will be less mess and frustration in the end.

log in as the admin
user name- administrator
leave the password blank
under the pass word spot there is a place where it has the domain name
there should be a little black arrow there click that and then youll see a name like "something on local computer"
change to that and log in
then right click on my computer
choose properties
then computer name
then click change
at the bottom choose work group
make sure you change the default name of the work group
then hit ok then the computer will reboot
and that should take care of your problems
if you need more help you can contact me
good luck

you have two chocies

1) that you are the adminstrator
- if you are go this way and do what i say :

a) open control panel .
b) user accounts
c) change user
d) click on your user name
e) remove password .
then do what in number two also .
2) you are not the adminstrator .
contact the adminstrator .

on the desktop there a shortcut to ( mycomputer )

1) right click on it
2) choose properties .
3) choose computer name
4) choose change
5) choose (workgroup ) instead of ( domain ) .
6) enter any name in the part ( workgroup ) .
7) restart and the computer will never ask for the password .

it should have an option to sign in a workstation only. Use that to sign in just to Windows (you may still need a password, but it may be blank), or call your network help desk.

i just have to solution if nothing else works...

i mean you should take it to an "expert" first and see what he/she has to say about it....

if nothing works then format it...

if you don't know how to do that take it to the "expert" or get your cousin to do it or something...
