Everthing is hooked up correctly, but after going out to the router, I'm asked for my password. I accept the default, the application works for awhile and then asks for a password. I've reset the router to no avail.

I realise the best and fastest way to connect two computers directly is using ethernet or a special USB cable or whatever, but I don't have any of that to hand right now and I need to do this now.

I have a regular phone cable, can't I just plug this cable into each of the dial-up modem ports on each computer and share files, etc between the two computers this way?

I live in NH. it's pretty far from the major transport highways. I get no reception at all. The FCC's regulations are confusing. I know that you can't put a antenna up too high. I'm wondering the maximum size and what wire gauge I should use. Like across my roof in a web like pattern.

Can someone track my Internet history?
If I am using my own laptop (Apple Powerbook) but someone else's wireless connection, can they track my internet history? Can they tell from a differnt computer what websites I visit?

I used a netgear WG111T usb wifi adaptor to successfully connect to my wireless network and was able to connect to the Internet. I later used the same adapter on another network but have not succeeded since to connect to the Internet on my home network.

What is bugging me is that I succeed in connecting to the network but can't connect to the Internet. What I've noticed is that it is not able to automatically pick an IP address. When I manually type in an IP address it picks it but still wont give me access to the Internet.

Another observation is that when I type IPCONFIG/ALL at command prompt it displays the settings of the network I used but not my home settings. When I key in the IP settings manually I get my home settings but, like I said, I don't get access to the Internet.
I've tried it on different PCs but get same result. I tried cable and everything is fine.

I'm inclined to think the device has stored the settings of the second network but how do I get rid of that?
