My check engine light is on for my 99' Honda Civic LX. I told the Carx guys my car didn't start the first time in the cold morning, theres a clanging when I accelerate, and that the oil/coolant are fine. I also told them the car didn't accelerate forward when the check engine light came on but reversed just fine. They took it all into consideration said to be back in an hour. I sat across at Starbucks to watch what they did, they pulled the car in, looked at it for 15 minutes, parked it back outside. I walked over, as if, to see what was the issue, if they found it. They eventually, 5 minutes later, said it was the cars computer board that was the issue and it would need to be fixed at a dealership. I asked why the car made a clanging sound when accelerating and he said "The computer board is malfunctioning giving mixed signals to the engine". Is this possible to diagnose in 15 minutes without a diagnostic analysis?

i have a 97 chevy suburban that just got the heads replaced (overheat had cracked them)

it misses the whole time that i drive it. it wont hold oil pressure unless i push on the gas or while im driving

theres ALOT of gasoline in my engine oil. i can smell it on my oil cap. i had just gapped my spark plugs today(the guy that worked on it left it at .045 and it needs to be at .060) and the missfire has gone down alot.....but it still misses the whole time i drive it. well it feels like i quites missing when i lift off of the gas pedal.

i noticed that my spark plugs smelled of gasoline as well. and spark plug 3 was fully caked of what looks like burnt oil. but it smelled the worst of gasoline. spark plug 2 was fine just smelt of gas

spark plug 3 and 2 are where my heads and valves are at that were worked on. so i dont know if maybe he messed up doing that part of the job or not

any help will be really really really awsome

I have a 1991 Mazda B2600i pick up truck. i had a Inverter and i pluged it into the trucks outlet so i can charge my computer. i used it a couple of times there after. then one time my Inverter did not light up and would not charge my computer. the inverter did not work anymore. but then also i have a car phone charger for my phone and i used that a couple of times on my trucks outlet as well. then a couple days later the car phone charger didnt work either. is it my trucks outlet that caused both my inverter and my car car charger to stop working? what can i do to fix this because im usually in my truck a lot and i need to use the outlet but i dont want it killing all my stuff. thanks

I replaced the starter on my 95 S10 Blazer.Approx.1 mo. later the end came off the starter & lodged in the f lywheel.Chipped teeth on flywhl & locked car down.I got the piece out & replaced starter.Motorstill wouldn't turn over.Towed it home, tore it down. Can't find areason why it is locked down. But,the 2 center pistons don't want to move up & down.I have to force them. Its a 6 cyl.Vortex Chevy.I had previously thought that the crank shaft had broke, but it looks fine.Any ideas why the 2 pistons would give a problem? The blazer has excess of 150,000,but has been taken care of & it had oil in it.Thanks in advance..

i have a 79 scottsdale with a 350. i am running the exhaust right in front of the back tire comming out on the driver side. i am running straight pipe 2.5 in, so i added a custom made tip made out of two one inch pipe side by side and now it shoots out flames. is this because the back pressure is too high at the end or is this another problem, and if it is because of too much backpressure, is this a bad thing.

I have a 99 Cougar & every time it gets cold out the car will die when I do not have my foot on the gas. We have tried everything & can not seen to find the Problem. We are thinking that it is a vacumm leak But are not too sure. When the car acts up the breaks also do not have enough vacumm suction to work properly.

If any one knows how to fix this problem can they please share it with me. I am willing to try any ideas just to get the car through the winter. Thanks!

I'm having problems with it carbon fouling , loosing cylinders, rough idle in gear. Thinking it was a vacuum leak replaced the intake gasket and still having the problems. I'm thinking its either the spark plugs (R44T) or putting a hotter coil to fix the problem.
Before I go buy something I don't need , Can anybody help me please.

I got my car put in for a service and while it was in asked them if they could try and work out why there was a noise in the rear end of the car. they told me that the universal joints had to be replaced so that got done and then the problems started. The car now vibrates going at 70+ KPH they replaced the drive shaft thinking that was the problem, and then some cross thingy near the drive shaft and its still doing it. It didnt have this problem before i took it in and they changed the universal joints. oh and it has a new rear axel but that was from a few months ago so thats not the problem. And the mechanics can't work out the problem.
Can anyone help me please :(

I have a 96 Geo Tracker and recently I have noticed that when I am accelerating the speedometer needle bounces a lot until I get up to at least 30 mph. My first thought is that the connection cable might be coming loose. Anyone have a better idea than me?

I have a 1995 Ford Explorer with a stuck hood. When I tried to close the hood a few days ago, instead of shutting all the way, it kinda bounced and didn't close (I'm thinking the latch was not all the way open or it just closed partially). So I tried a second time and it closed but not all the way. Now it's open by about an inch or two and totally stuck. I have an appointment with a Ford dealer to get it fixed in a week or so; is there anyone who's a mechanic or has had this experience that can give me an idea of how many bucks you have to fork out to fix this? I've tried on my own to fix it and can't. Do they have to rip the hood off?

I have a 98 Amigo 2.2L and when i bought it the battery was toast, i replaced it. When i checked the voltage with the new batter and the car was running, it read like 16.5..I thought it was the regulator but ignred it. Now the car wont start and the battery is reading 11.7 vlots idle. Is this ok and should i just change the alternator or did i fry the battery from having a fauly regulator that kept the vehicle at 16.5 volts most of the time?
