Yes it can. I recommend after having your battery terminals unhooked at any time you should start the vehicle up and let it idle without touching the gas pedal for at least 2 minutes. This will allow your car's computor to relearn the air fuel mixture. I don't know if this is your problem but it will not hurt to try it. Good Luck.

"What??" Battery Won't Cause the Engine to Stall! Sounds like it can be Fixed Easy but need Info.

Car & Year? Engine & Mileage? Some Details on what the Engine was doing Before & After the Battery was Installed?

Could be Bad Alternator (Engine Started and Ran for Some Time then Stalled and won't Restart, Alternator not Working, Battery was Running Engine, went Flat and without Alternator Working Properly Engine Stalled!) Battery Cables Bad! Loose Battery Clamps at Battery Terminals, Corroded and Resistance is Extremely High! Cables and Wires Loose at Battery, Starter, Starter Solenoid! Bad Grounds at Starter to Block, Alternator to Block, Block to Firewall Strap! ETC.

"Unless the Battery you Bought is Shorted and Bad?"!

Not likely, but I have seen cases where a battery was not held down by the battery strap. The idiots that installed the battery didn't put the strap back on properly to secure the battery. The battery slide around and caused a short circuit and the car to stall.

It can be a pain to locate because it was so difficult to replicate.

In most cases, no, a properly installed replacement battery that is in good condition won't cause the engine to stall.
