I am not even quite sure where it is located. I suck with anything that is not rear-wheel drive and at least 20 years old.

My car failed an emissions test. The diagnostic indicated that the Cat. Converter needed replacing. So I had a converter that passed an etest 3 years ago, so I stuck it on, and will go for the retest tomorrow. Could the converter have gotten clogged after just sitting around for 3 years? I don't think the car was this sluggish before I stuck on the converter a few days ago. I sometimes need to use 4th gear on the hiway. 5th gear gets a bit sluggish. Any helpful comments would be appreciated.

just put new headlights in my 2000 Mustang. ( It was easy to do). I have 8000K halogen bulbs in them for super bright white light.

The trouble is, when I took a test drive last night I was scared because I could not really see. I think they point too much to the ground or something. Even when on hi-beam, I still could not see as good as with the stock headlights that were a bit clouded.

Anyone have any thoughts? Is there a way to adjust the direction of the bulb? I don;t see how, though, as I replaced the bulbs and there seems to be only one way they sit.

Help. I may need to put my stocks back in .
Here are the lights I have:

I have an International DT 433 truck and I have some elecrtical and other problems on it.
- Sometimes when trying to start the engine early in the morning I just can't (mostly when its cold);
- My indicator for charging the batteries blinks red and makes sound and I am afraid that when I'm doing delivery its gonna stop;
- Sometimes the indicator on the dashboard blinks and shows that there is water in my tank.

These are my main problems. I went to a technician, even to the International Dealer but they couldn't find the problem.
I am doing a delivery bservice in Toronto, Canada. If somebody has dealt with such problems, have any ideas how I might fix them please respond!!!

P.S. If somebody knows a good mechanic on trucks in the Toronto area please tell me!
Thanks!

I have a 2000 Nissan Frontier 4x2 Regular Cab. Last night, on the way to work, my steering suddenly became tight. I looked down and noticed that my battery light and emergency brake light were on. I pulled off the road and my steering wheel wouldn't really turn. It took pressure to get off the road. I turned off my car and then turned it back on....the battery and brake lights stayed on, but my battery seems to be okay because I don't have any dimming of the headlights or interior lights. The tow truck driver thinks the power steering belt snapped. He said that will cause the lights on the dash to turn on? Does this sound right? How much approxmaitely do you think it will cost (including labor in California). I'm just looking for a round about figure. Or does this seem like some other problem?

Yesterday I was leaving school and I backed out of my parking space and there was this blazer behind me and I thought it was too close so I backed up as careful as possible trying not to hit it. Well after I had backed up, I cut the wheels to the left to leave. There was this girl's car parked beside me and it looked like I was too close to her to leave, so I continued to back up a little more til it looked like I had enough room to leave.. Apparently I hit her car. Brushed against it or something. After I had got home, one of my brother's friends called and said it looked like I hit it and there was a black mark on it. So I contacted her last night and told her that I MAY HAVE hit her car and that I would pay for it if I did. Is it possible that I could have hit it without knowing?! Because I didn't feel anything when I went to leave. WHAT SHOULD I DO?!?! =(=(=(

I stupidly did not take out extra insurance on my new Ford Fusion lease. Sure enough my boyfriend burned the seat so that the foam is showing. How much will this cost me (or him actually) when I turn the car in?

hi all,

My friend thought the transmition on her 04 kia rio might be slipping..her definition of " slipping" was the car seemed to take an extra second to accelerate( it didn't like jerk ..basically the car revved a lil..perhaps she had to put a bit more foot into it
the car is only 3-4 years old..but has like 100,000miles on it.
I check the tranny fluid. was low..filled it to the proper level..road tested it..seemed to take hills fine.

if her tranny is slipping..what would the car be doing?
the car wasn't bad on power..it is a kia after all..just seemed like perhaps her fluel injecters might be clogged up..

would this account for a lil less power/ than usual..eat up more gas? she just drove the car on a trip down to dallas..said it seemed like the car used more gas coming home than on the way down..
oil changed like 2 months ago/new oil filter/airfilter

I have checked the fuses and changed the turn signal switch. Additionally, I have changed both headlights. I am going to change the headlight switch this weekend. Before I tear my dash apart, is there another option I should explore?

I'm going to Wyotech next year, and I need to start buying tools for auto repair. For the professionals out there, what brand of tools do you recommend? I use Snap-On at school, and they seem to work great, but are very pricey. At home, I use Craftsman, and have never had a problem with them, but I'm not sure about how well they would hold up over the years. I have also heard Cornwell is very good, not sure of their price range though.....

i got an actron and found out some codes causing my check engine light. my question is how do i find out what to do about them? any suggestion? for example, one of them is "MAF/VAF CIRCUIT LOW INPUT." do i just replace the MAF sensor? another is "MAP/BARO CIRCUIT HIGH INPUT." just replace that sensor also? i'm not expecting the mechanical answers, just asking does anyone know a place to find out what to do about codes when you identify them. thanks in advance.

I have an Emglo and a DeWalt air compressors, both with pumps KU model, a new pump costs around 350 to 380....plus s&h.
I found a pump Central Hydraulics for $120 w/ 2 yr warranty, but there's a line going to the head of the KU that the C.H. don't have which I think it releases a bit of pressure to start the engine ...it's not the safety valve.
Any idea how to hook it up? or what kind of valve do i need to get? or just cancel it with a cap?
