Not just with the Lincoln-with all cars. Try this-get a can of Intake system cleaner-spray-type. block the throttle plate open, and, using an old toothbrush, spray and scrub all the black gunk out of the throttle body bore. When restarting the car after doing this, it will probably start hard, and may not want to start at all unless you go to "clear flood" mode-press the throttle all the way to the floor while cranking.
Very common problem, especially if the oil change intervals are long, and the PCV valve isn't serviced/replaced at the proper intervals.

use some sea foam and deep creep
poor sea foam in you PCV valve or in your Brake booster line VERY SLOWY don't stall you engine until about 1/3 of the can is gone when poor more in until your engine stalls wait 10-15 minutes. While you wait spray you throttle body with some deep creep it is in a spray form spary all over making sure you coat everything at least twice. Drive the car around HARD on the Highway don't get your neighbors pissed off. you wil see A lot of smoke depending on the carbon buildup in to engine but don't be alarmed i sould go away within 5mins or in some cases 30mins. Driving hard means 5,000RPMs. I did this to my car and can well alot better response in the throttle and it doesn't hestiate as much now.

You need to get the car checked out, it could be anything from a poor vacum line to a faulty throttle position sensor, to a dirty throttle body. Without seeing the car, and if you don't know what you are looking for, you can nickel and dime yourself to bankruptcy trying to find the problem.
In so much as the ABS light coming on, if it gave you a code, call the dealer, give them the code and they can tell you what is causing it.

Seems like you have a "Ford - found on the road dead" product. No I'm not making fun of you. I own two Fords. They are high maintenance automobiles. Take it into a Ford dealer and let them diagnose the problem. To me (I'm a shade tree mechanic for 36 years) seems like you have a sensor problem but then it could be something more serious. That problem can cause grave problems on the road when you have to stop quickly and the paddle is all the way to the metal .... crash, dead. Get my drift?! Go see a qualified mechanic. Yes have $200 handy. What is your life or the life of loved ones worth? More than $200 I dare say.

For the codes Try looking here.

I would start simple with the throttle cable. Try getting some graphite lube and disconnecting the cable from the throttle body and puting some graphite dry lube in the cable and working it bak and forth. Do this a few times. Then try it.

It genuinely genuinely relies upon on the automobile, the terrain, the elements, the speed of speed, & the guy motive force! this is the position adventure is the finished instructor. in order to the right thanks to operate your automobile wisely, the motive force ought to be able to comprehend the engine sounds & the speed of the rpm of the motor. In different GET to carry close YOUR automobile & WHAT WORKS fantastic TO RUN THE ENGINE contained in the least RESTRICTIVE way! this signifies that you shouldn't have the song cranked up till you realize the noises of your automobile because in case you may not listen the engine & equipment sounds, then you honestly gained't comprehend even as to brake, carry close & launch in ANY equipment! The engine stalls even as the carry close disengages before the engine has been waiting to burn off the gas contained in the cylinder & put off the vapors. this is the reason you want to the right thanks to "juggle" your 3 pedals in unison. First, you launch the gas pedal, then stick with the brake pedal, then use your carry close pedal at the same time as you're utilizing both the brake OR gas pedal in a rhythmic trend that does no longer enable your engine to get too a lot OR too little gas, hence averting STALLING the engine. ONE pedal is going IN as yet another ONE is going OUT! For some reason, no one TEACHES this technique & a lot of human beings do exactly not get it. you're not any more on my own.

Directly inside the air intake hose at the head you can see the butterfly choke mechanism odds are it needs cleaned. Take a steel bristle tooth brush and clean the crap out with the engine running you'll have to hold the choke open with one hand and brush all around with the other.
