Normaly a minute or three should work fine in the winter . During the summer the engine doen't need the extra time .
In the computor controled cars the computor tries to compansate for the cold (better than the old carb) , but the engine metalergy won't tighten to the best requirements until warm.

I usually wait a couple of minutes or so depending on the temp...if it's really cold, I'll wait a bit longer or preheat the car. It helps warm up fluids and makes for a shorter time to warm up the interior. A remote starter is a good option too when it's 0 degrees outside.

A good 5-10 minutes at least...not only so it's warm inside for you ;-) but when the weather is cold, the eng oil gets thick and takes longer to thin out and pump/lubricate all parts of the eng. Eng will last longer with less oil burnoff when it gets more mileage on it.

Shouldn't need that. Just drive slowy the first half mile to get the oil moving.
