Ok, so i have kind of a huge problem on my hands...i decided to buff the car and i used 1500 grid sand paper which worked fine and i did it on a quarter panel and it looked great, but then, my friend told me to use a more rougher red cloth. its not exacly sand paper, but its still used for the same purpose, i think you prolly know what im talkin about. Anyways, i used that on my whole car and now i have deep scratches everywhere on my car, i dont think ive touched the paint, just the clear coat, but what do i do, is there a way to just respray clear coat or will i need to respray the whole car...Please help, buffing out those scratches isnt working...please help.

I was going about 45mph and there was this thump, thump sound coming from the right front. As I was driving, I accelerated a little more and the gauge went from 45mph to 90mph. But the car itself didn't move. It wasn't going anywhere when I would depress the gas pedal. I went to put it in park and it made a grinding noise. (as if I was driving a manual tranny and was trying to put it in first gear.) Even in park, I was rolling backwards. Is it my transmission? Maybe my axel?

I just returned from a long road trip and, a week later, my car is making a fairly loud whirring sound. It seems to be orginating from the driver's side. Generally the problem starts when my car hits 40 mph and then lasts about 10 minutes or so before usually going away. It seems to get a little louder with increasing speed. At first I thought it might be tied to the AC since the AC got plenty of use on the trip and, at one point, began leaking water onto my feet as a drove but I'm curious what everyone else might think.

I have been unable to get the oil changed in my car because of time and money problems. I have a 2000 Focus that is running perfectly fine even though it's been nearly 10,000 miles and 8 months since I last changed the oil. What are the odds of something majorly bad happening to my car? I'll be able to change the oil soon. I just worry about the engine seizing and being unable to use the car at all.

however I can't find where it is leaking from. When I stop and pop the bonnet although I know it is too hot I can't see any sign of steam or leaks, and yet the coolant level had dropped right down.

How can I work out where the leak is?

The owners installed 3 fuel filters and they said it would run after each istalltion and then die and not restart,
The fuel pump fuse is good and the relay is active when the key is turned on. I dont hear the pump priming; whats the chance of it being the pump? What lse could it be? If it is the pump; how can you safely remove the plastic ring w/o the special tool?

My car is a honda civic,I have just replaced my drive shaft on the driver's side about 2 days ago. I didn't have any problem until today. While on the freeway I heard a loud continous thumping noise coming from under my car. I heard it yesterday but only at low speeds and it wasn't that loud. The problem might be that I put in the axle wrong but i have checked it out and everything seems to be in place. There is nothing that comes close to touching the driveshaft. When my foot is on the gas pedal the noise stops for a bit but when I release it the noise comes back on. I don' know what the problem is and plus I will hear it too if I make a left turn. Is it the drive shaft or something else?

I lowered my car by changing the springs. I still have the original struts and my car doesn't like any bumps. The back end is also bouncy. I plan on replacing the struts to get a better ride. Do I need special lowering struts ( I haven't found any anywhere) or can I get the self ajusting kind and be alright? Will they work or will I be wasting my time and money?

I recently bought a used infiniti G35 and I noticed a lot of the cars at the lot (including mine) had rust near the rotors that can be seen through the rims. My salesman said it's due to the cars just sitting and not moving and would go away. Some of it has gone over the last few days, there's still some left. Should I be concerned?

I started the car this morning and one rear wheel wouldn't turn, it was like trying to drive but with the handbrake on. I hadnt driven the car for a week. It did free itself and drives normally now however there is a rotational thumping noise from the back wheels. I checked the tyre to see if it being dragged had flattened it off but it doesn't appear so. Does anyone know why this happened, how i can prevent it and what is the likely cause of the 'thumping'. I would appreciate your thoughts.
