The owners installed 3 fuel filters and they said it would run after each istalltion and then die and not restart,
The fuel pump fuse is good and the relay is active when the key is turned on. I dont hear the pump priming; whats the chance of it being the pump? What lse could it be? If it is the pump; how can you safely remove the plastic ring w/o the special tool?

If you have power to the pump. and no fuel pressure, the pump is bad. Replace the pump with a Chrysler factory (Mopar) unit, do not use an aftermarket pump. Our shops have had so many problems with aftermarket units that we will no longer warranty the labor if a customer insists that we use the aftermarket unit.

We treat the aftermarket pumps the same way we do junkyard parts provided by the customer. We will install them, but if they are bad, you will have to pay the labor rate again for us to replace it again!

Who said the pump was "good"? It sounds like it lacks the ability to provide any significant volume to the engine.

Does the van have a high pressure pump, too? Check for that. If it's like some Fords the low pressure pump pushes the gas out of the tank and the high pressure pump increases the pressure to work with the injectors...

Good luck.

How about a hammer and a drift punch? Just take your time and don't hit it too hard. It might be time to pull the tank and take a look inside and see if there is anything in the bottom that is giving the fuel pump problems. good luck.
