Im taking an at home course for AC and they sent me a gauge manifold for r134a, but all I can find with 134a in it is my truck, and It won't hook up to the connecitons. Is there something I can hook up to that doesn't need piercing valves, or can the 134a gauge be used with r22? if not... why?

My car is a 1992 Astrovan that has a lot of life left in it. There is oxidation on the roof. I am looking for an easy, cost effective way to fix this short of a paint job. I may be looking for another car next year.

Thanks.

I have tested the thermostat and the fuses, as well as the fan and the belts and the hoses. I just don't know what else could be making it overheat so easily, is there anyone out there that can give me some advice other than taking it to a shop?

Ok, so my husband was driving home one night when our truck died. now for some time (since like oct of '06) we had to manual start the truck where i would literally rock it from N to 1 to start it without push starting. which was rather irritating. Well, the night the truck gave out, my father in law went to get my husband, and they said while trying to start the truck, flames got spit out from the muffler i believe. Well, the other day we had to move it, and the key didnt start the truck obviously, but the radio came on, saying to me, battery isnt dead, but i need to figure out whats wrong, we looked at the timing belt, but it didnt appear lose it was acctually really tight, and the owner before us said they changed the belt but didnt time it, which we found apparent when everytime we went up a hill, the truck went from the 60's to the 20's...not so fun....anyways, if anyone thinks they know whats wrong, please let me know, and also, where can i find an owners manual online????

I have the I have a Murray riding mower and when I start it up after jumping it, it dies when I release the clutch. I have jump started it to use it for the first time since last year. It will run after I jumpstart it but will not restart w/o jumper cables attached to running power. It will run until I release the clutch to go either forward or backward.

For the past 9 months my car has been in and out of the shop due to overheating, or the a/c does not work. I've spent so much time and money having the radiator tested, the A/C charged, etc. and nobody seems to know what the problem is. I had a new thermostat put in about a year ago, and the antifreeze is not leaking out anywhere, but does sometimes spill out the top when the car is too hot. It's not only an annoying problem that won't go away, I'm worried it may be causing more serious damage. Anyway, i've now been told by 2 mechanics that the only thing it could be is the compressor or the heating core (or coil)...and that they'd need to take the dashboard out which takes about $500 in labor just to do. My fear is, what if they dont find the problem!!! HELP! Any suggestions? Ideas? Thanks so much.

My sunroof is jammed/broken and I plan on fixing it myself ('98 Hyundai Elantra). I got a quote from a mechanic that he would charge $200 just to take off the lining (inside the car on the ceiling) just to get to where he could look at it. So needless to say this must be tricky or take some time. I just don't want to tear up the lining or do something irreversable and create more problems. You don't have to give me full instructions but tips would be appreciated (i.e. "most importantly . . ." or "make sure not to do this . . .")

Just on the removing of the lining, I worry about the actual sunroof when I can get to it and take a look

I have a 1995 Pontiac Bonneville. The battery is only two years old so I dout that is the problem. I have been having to get my car jump started, the battery has been completely dead after leaving it sit overnight. The alternator is charging the battery because i can still start my car 4 hours after i have been driving it for 15 minutes. What could be draining my battery? I also pulled out the fuse the controls the chime and the radio. thanks

to 3rd, 2nd and 1st..(with the clutch in of course). Or do you just move the stick from 4th directly to 1st. Or does it really matter since you have the clutch in. thanks...i've always wondered if one way is better than the other.

Everytime i turn the car off i have to jump-start is to get it started again, but when i actually get it started it will run until i turn it off so that tells me that it possibly couldnt be the alternator because if the alternator was bad then the car wouldnt run, but this is why im asking to the world, is it possible for the alternator to be bad enough to not keep the battery charged but still run the car??? The battery is about a year old give or take a little, any and all help will be greatly appreciated!!!
