Short answer no, long answer, "What?"

Do mean trash as in someone emptied their Friday trash collection into your tank or do you mean little pieces of crud like paint chips floating in the tank?

There's no easy fix. You'd have to drain the tank and then pull the tank out or off and then dry it out and then literally wash it out with either brake parts cleaner (which will dry in minutes) or hose it out with a water hose and then dry it out (arm inside tank with an old t-shirt trick) and let it sit a day or so to evaporate the residual moisture. Then re-install and fill with gasoline that has an inline filter on the pump hose between the pump and the nozzle.

If it is a diesel tank/motor, you can try Howe's brand diesel treatment. You'll find it at any truck stop and you can dump in a whole bottle for the first treatment. This will suck out the moisture (diesel is infamous for holding water) and kill and suck up any algae growing in the tank. Most people don't know that algae can grow in the bottom of a diesel tank when you leave it sit for a long time without driving it a periodic filling the tank. The moisture settles to the bottom (where normal use would suck it out and burn it) and after a long while it'll cause trouble. This is why they recommend running a tank dry before Winter storage or adding some of those Stabil brand like products.

Good Luck!

Put a very large in-line gas filter in the fuel line and replace it as it gets plugged up...may take a few filters before all the crud is out.

Are you talking about the tank or the trash?
