My car is a 1992 Astrovan that has a lot of life left in it. There is oxidation on the roof. I am looking for an easy, cost effective way to fix this short of a paint job. I may be looking for another car next year.

Thanks.

Generally, buffing will remove the oxidation, and wax will keep it from recurring. If it is really bad, compound and a buffer will be needed.
My '98 Dodge Ram was the same way. The used car detail guy at my dealer is a wizard with a buffer. It looks brand new now!

You should have a base coat and clear coat. You might try using a cleaner wax on the roof and see if that helps. If that doesn't help then you might try a fine grade of rubbing compound and lightly go over the roof. If that doesn't get it, then it looks like you may need to hit the body shop and get it painted. good luck.

you may grind on that section and placed duraglas over it and sand it down and paint your automobile, yet finally the rust will come back. the only thank you to do away with this is to section a clean piece of metallic into the rusted section or replace the completed panel. It specific could be constructive if vehicle manufacturers used chrome metallic then you definately does not could desire to worry approximately rust ever.
