I have a 78 Fiat X-1/9 Bertone that I recently got out of storage. It sat in the Phoenix, AZ baking heat (car cover did not cover tires) for 18 months. Now it feels like it's going over slight bumps in the road all the time, AND the new-ish tires are severly worn on the front (inside) Did the tires get melted flat where it sat for so long? I don't think I've got even a couple thousand miles on them & I think they may need replacing already ! they are alarmingly worn on the inner 2 inches--as in almost no tread depth --ie almost bald! (insert swear words here--the tires weren't cheap!) Any ideas?

I had to call AAA and the guy who looked at it clearly showed me it had literally severed itself. Dunno why. Anyway, to save money I figured I could replace it myself. It's been a long time since I've seen it done.

How do you replace a battery cable??

My car has been in the shop for 3 months over a timing belt and bent valves. the mechanic was told to fix the car up right away and we would pay as soon as it was done...last week he told me the car would be done by wednesday, on wed. my dad stopped at the shop and he said later on that afternoon. So Wednesday afternoon I went to see about the car and the owner says that he never said it would be ready by wednesday and it may take longer, because it needs a new motor. Also i asked a while back about taking care somewhere but the owner tells me that the storage fee would be about $20/ a day... what can i do this is really frustrating it shouldn't have taken 3 months its a 96 honda accord

I have electric windows and about 3 years ago the driver side window started to roll up and down very slowly, and now it will not come down at all. Now the passenger side window is starting to do the same thing, If I roll it down just a little bit, I have to start rolling it up about 15 minutes before I arrive to my destination so I know it will be all the way up, lol. Does this sound like the motor for the electric window or could it just be something more simple? How much do you think it will cost to fix it?

I (or my father, to be exact) owns a 1996 Volvo 850 Non-Turbo.

The fuel pumps died on him in January, he had them replaced and the car drove fine for a month...then the check engine light came on and the car began to act peculiar. When you accelarate, it will sort of lurch around; going from 2,500 rpm down to like 1,800, then back to 2,500. We took it to a mechanic who cleared the error codes and re-soldered the fuel pump relay. After driving it only 50 miles, the problem began again...and now, it has begun to stall out at stoplights!

Does anybody have an idea what may be wrong with it? Is it something a mechanically-inclined person can work on?

Thanks,

Joe
