about 20 sensors that will turn on the check engine light. take it to autozone and have them pull the codes. then you can figure out what is setting them......also if you turn the key off and on 5 times then leave it on the check engine light should start to flash......read it......it will give you number like : flash flash flash pause flash flash.......thats a code 32......then you can go to the library and look up the definitions or most parts houses can help there as well .... oh this only works on older chrysler products people

Your service engine light turns on usually when there is an electrical problem in the car. For some reason, the system is not running the way it should be so the computer in the vehicle turns that light on to let you know there is a problem. Easiest way to find out what it is, take the car (if it is running) down to an autozone or another auto parts store (i recommend autozone because i know they will do this for you) tell them the service light is on and they will rent a code reader to you. its free, all you have to do is put a deposit down for the code reader (usually its around 180.00) but you get it all back when you return the reader. They will show/tell you where to plug it in, usually under the dash on the driver side, the computer will basically run itself and it will give you a code. take the code back inside and tell them what it is at the counter and they can tell you what is not working in the car. Do it now before you have any more problems. Good luck!!!
