I just bought a 98 Pontiac Bonneville about a month ago. I t is due for an oil change and the previous owner said he used synthetic oil while he had it. I really can't afford the pricey oil changes, so is ok to switch back to regular? Thanks

I went to Ga this weekend to look at a car! 1970 Chevy SS Clone Chevelle 396/330. It was nice but I had a few unanswered questions about the car! The first thing I noticed is when I got into the vhehicle and pushed on the gas pedal it was stiff! I also noticed when the car's hood was lifted up it had a ticking noise. The owner told me it was because of the high performance cams. The last thing I noticed was when we parked the car it started leaking oil 10 min later! Like 4 or 5 drops I was told by the owner the car had been sitting for a while. I was also told the seals were pushed up to the tranny that was the reason for the oil leak. Also the speedometer didn't work I was then told that when they put the new transmission in the car that the cables didnt match! Its a good car though the dang thing put me back in my seat when put it in gear three and bang it in drive at 30 mph. Please help!

Then after several fills later it has gone off, however crossing over some bumpy railroad tracks just the other day, it came back on and still is on. (Everytime I go to take it to the local Autozone for them to hook it onto their error code tester---the light goes back out --just before arriving there, so they can 't locate the source of the problem). The wiring has been checked and is working right, also the idiot bulb has been replaced. The truck has recently had an oil change, tranny flush, and tune-up. I just rolled it over the 100 thou. mark......

I need some very small tires that are rounded like those on a street bike and have tread for high speed and good grip on pavment.

They need to be 4"-6" with rims. There will be 2 or 3 of them supporting no more then 300lbs.

I had the car towed home and the next day the car started up and was running good as usual. so I went to the store and when I tried to start the car up again it would't start. after waiting a while the car started up. I took the module off (while the battery was still connect) and had the module tested at auto zone. They said the module was good. after putting the module back on the car, I noticed when I turned the key forward the dash lights didn't come on, such as the check engine light, oil light ect. now the car won't even start up period. I check all the fuses and the seemed to be good. could it be that my crank censor went out.

Also, I appear to going 30mph all the time. Brakes are working. Last time this hapened I lost my brakes, but this time it's different. Now the common answer to this problem states its an ABS sensor. Well here is my real question. The part for my car (95' Honda Prelude SI) says there is a ABS sensor on each hub on each wheel. All are $85. How do I know which one to replace? My town is notorious for shady mechanics. This problem has rip off written all over it.

1992 Jeep Cherokee with 195000 miles. Driven very little this summer. Short drive yesterday... front brakes stuck, smelled, very hot rim on front left side. Brake fluid container was extremely full. Can someone help me understand what causes this problem? Can I remove the wheel and "unstick" them? Should I replace calipers? Rebuild kit? Is problem in calipers or in the unit attached to the firewall? Master cylinder?

I have an 98 chevy metro and I want to paint it really cheap. I am not willing to spend hundreds of dollars on it to get it painted because that would be more than the car is probably worth. I have a air compressor, air hose, sanders, garage. The paint is not that bad on it. It is burgandy and I want it bright yellow. I know it will not look real good because I am not a professional. I am wondering if any of you can tell me the steps in order to paint it myself? Nobody in my family or friends will tell me because I'm a woman they think I can't do it. Also it has a rust hole under the door. How do I fix that? I know bondo. What exactly are the steps I have to take to get it fixed? Another reason for painting is the door is a shade darker because I changed it. Thanks for your answers.

I took it to the mechanic and he almost immediately noticed the water pump was leaking. He replaced the water pump but that wasn't the problem...

There's no problem if I drive from place to place but if I allow my Jeep to idle, it never fails to over heat. This is a problem because I use it to deliver newspapers in the morning with lots of stop and go and idle time between houses (having to run up to houses and back to the car). Turning off the car and restarting it between stops isn't practical.

Anybody else have the same problem? HELP!

I'll be selling my car because im moving and I'm afraid I'm going to have a hard time selling my car because the check engine light is on. It's been on for several months but the car runs great. I've researched and it seems that many old and even newer corollas have problems with the check engine light always turning on even if the car runs fine and even after its been checked and diagnosed. Any suggestions on how to turn it off?

i filled up yesterday, and a light came on that said 'O/D OFF'
now that light went away, and the check engine light came on, and stayed on for a while, then started blinking
it may have something to do with the gas cap but i dont kno, i checked the oil, and radiator fluid, engine sounds and runs fine, it may be something else minor,
help me if you have had this problem b4, or just have an idea of what may be wrong, please

A about a year ago, the left lights on the dashboard went out. Slowly the problem got worse. Tonight most of the interior dash lights were out or really dim and the battery gauge was reading very low. The vehicle starts and doesnt seem to change when driving. The interior lights run off the aux are just fine, only low when the truck is on. Could be the alternator, but I am wondering if its a fuse issue or short, any thoughts?
