Maybe a dehydrator or more commonly, called a dryer. It's basically a canister full of desiccant (think the stuff in pill bottles that absorb moisture) it just removes any moisture thats in the freon lines.

A hydrator is the same thing as a Bifiblicalcapacitormodulatorconvertor. LOL!!! It doesn't exist!

They might be referring to that little cylindrical aluminum tank commonly referred to as the accumulator. Other than a leak, I'm not sure why they'd replace it. This is where the Freon ends up after it passes through the evaporator coil (if my directions are not backwards) and before it runs through the compressor again.

Basic parts on the A/C are: The compressor, the compression coil or radiator, the evaporator coil, the accumulator, and some hoses and a tiny cone shaped filter called the pitot tube? I forget sometimes, old age.

Good Luck!

I have never heard of a Hydrator. Air conditioning is pretty much the same in all vehicles and you have the Pump, expansion valve, condensor ( which is the radiator like device next to or in front of the radiator) then goes to the dryer (big cannister on the firewall) and then the evaporator core which is under the dash, and the blower fan blows air over the evaporator and thats where the cold air comes from. You might need a dryer. I have replaced them before and they can cost as much as $100 and you will have to evacuate and re-charge the system afterwards. If you cannot do this yourself shop around because you can get really ripped off on A/C repair. Make sure you get a guarantee on the repair.
