With a strong solvent and a wire brush. or you could sandblast the ends of them. If you buy any chilton manual or hayes or whatever they usually have an illustrated diagram of common spark plug symptoms.

I used to clean plugs with a little sand blaster attachment. You would put the plug into this hood and connect air to the tool and it would blast the plug clean. BUT I do not recommend doing this anymore. Plugs are inexpensive. Replacing them is better. If you clean with a wire brush it can cause problems as the scratches in the electrode or ground wire can cause misfires. Spark plug diagnosis is on the attached page with photos.

TAKE OUT THE SPARK PLUG
RUB IT WITH ANT HARD MATERIAL GENTLY
IF NEEDED WASH IT WITH SOFT BRUSH
USING GAS
TRY TO HEAT IT AND YOU WILL SEE SOME BLACK PARTICLED WILL COME OUT OF UR SPARK PLUG
TAKE A THIN METAL WIRE AND RUB WITH IT INSIDE THE SPARK PLUG.
USE GAS AND JUST CLEAN IT
HERE YOU GO NOW.
WHEN YOU USE GAS TAKE A PRECAUTION THAT FIRE SHOULD NOT CATCH AND DON'T HARM YOU ANY WAY

Replacing them is usually the best option. Otherwise, replacing them is good.
Failing that, replace them.
Now, if you feel you must clean a 60 cent part instead of replacing it, get a vibration cleaner, like is used to clean brass shells for reloading. Load it up with a good hard cleaning sand and put in the plugs. Let it clean for a few hours, and check it. Repeat as needed.
And Poof! for just over $1000 you have cleaned for re-use $5 worth of parts.
Unless the anode is pitted (and it most likely will be) and you have to replace them anyway.

Not worth the time wasted to do it. Easier to just replace them and not have to worry about anything. good luck
