I have a broken turn signal. Can their be a quick fix other than paying $180.00? The turn signal can be used by placing your finger in the switch. This is a problem, because I can not always get to the signal in time before I turn. Could a paper clip some how work?

I have been using Mobil 1 5W-30 and K&N filter ($9 @ Amazon.com) for my 1997 Nissan Altima (255k+ miles!), but I think it's an overkill since my Bosch premium oil filters for my BMW only cost $6 (advanceautopart.com). So I'm thinking I should not be going over $6 for my Nissan. But I also want to avoid "junk" filters. If your suggestion is online, please include a link. Thanks!

In park or drive... it kinda goes up a little, then has a small 'click' and then the rpm goes down a little... what causes that? It is consistent and doesn't sounds 'bad' or grindy at all...

i change my engine oil religiously every 10,000 miles and used only Mobil 1 synthetic oil in my 1990 Isuzu Trooper that currently has more 321,000 miles... although my engin is trouble free and still runs smooth, it no longer has the power and fuel effieicy it used to have... can't afford to overhaul the engine or re-do the valves to increase compression... are there any oil additives or engine treatments sold on the market that really really works, such as Restore and Slick 50 that claims their product will increase horsepower and resduce engine friction... or are all those additives on the store shelves merely gimmicks to rip off naive and ignorant people who really can;t afford a big repair bill?

The power locks and the horn are on the same fuse. I replaced the fuse and the horn and locks worked for about 10 minutes (or 10 - 15 beeps - my kids were excited to hear the horn again) Brand new fuse; should I try another or is there a short or something electrical? Locks are not working, of course. What would cause this?

Does the car AC Compressor, works all the time, even when AC is turned off ? Compressor runs with motor with the help of the belt. So it must be working all the time. But I think this may be not the case. I have seen that complicated pully to drive the Compressor. I think so this pully controles this requirement. Probably the AC switch makes some type of contact in this pully then actual compressor works, and on other times, when AC is off, only the pully runs, but Compressor does not run. This is all that I guess my self. Can some body please confirm or explainthe situation for me and for other readers. Thank you very much in advance.

My car is in the shop getting something major fixed, the repairman says that I need new brakes on the front and that he cannot "by law" allow me to take my car back without it being fixed. I plan on fixing it myself (or rather a friend of mine is going to fix it) as soon as I get the car home. I have tried to find a law pertaining to this and can't seem to find anything useful, please help... I'd like my car back.

I just bought a used 1991 Ford Tempo and I noticed that when the vehicle is shut off and I get out of the car the "engine fan" is running. Now it has been a few years since I have had a vehicle this old, but how long is the fan supposed to run for? Sometimes it seems like it is running for 10 minutes.
