would water leak into the oil regardless if the heater is on or off when the head-gasket or head is slightly cracked?

and could the slight level increas in the oil be due to the change from cold to hot in the wather outside.

The car has 65K miles. I checked the oil, very low to none. No alarm lights came on. I added 3 quarts of oil. The knocking is still going on. Do you know what's wrong with the engine and why it's knocking? Thanks for your response.

most of the time it dies the first time sometimes it picks itself back up and then starts it again after 30 seconds starts spiin and spuddering and then dies it will start right back up and then run great for 30 seconds if i play with the gas it stays running but if i put it in reverse and play with the gas it dies but when i put it in drive i can drive it around as long as i keep my foot on the gas when it goes to an idle it runs for 30 seconds and then dies we jsut put the motor in the jeep it never did this with the old motor the new motor is the same thing as i used all the parts off the old one. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!! iv'e check the ics and it sucks air like someone told me to try iv'e taken every conection off and reput them on to make sure it's conected right any sugestions would be great im pulling my hair out.

Yea so Ive been cleaning more grounds and checked the fuses, there is no alternator fuse on my truck. I found a plug that goes into the fuse box that says batt. maybe a battery sense wire? I will have the alternator bench tested again. I will also replace the wire from the (+) battery to the alternator with an 8 gauge does that sound fine? I hope this works. B/C i dont wanna have the harness torn apart for this, sounds like a hassle. any input is appreciated.

I got an Apexi carbon fiber muffler. I have a 2004 hyundai elantra. I am gonna do the mounting myself as I can weld it and bend the pipes that I need. My question is that stock muffler have hooks welded onto the muffler body that get hung fromt he rubber mounts on car's body. I cannot do this as it is a cf muffler. What would be the best way to do this? I have seen pictures of some mufflers that come with instalation kits that they come with a sort of band that gets wrapped around the muffler and then hung from the body, so there is no welding done. Any ideas? and where can I get teh parts needed?

94 Ford Explorer 4 Door. Only window that is stuck down is the front passenger's. Fuses are fine. This has happened a few times. The first time, I took it to the mechanic and was charged quite a lot, and wouldn't want to do that again. The other times it has happened I was going to get around to fixing it when i had some free time, so for the meantime I put up plastic over the window, and after about a week it started working again. This time I have the time to fix it now.

I have the door trim and water guard off. When I push the power window button I can hear a click sound comming from inside the door. (Both when I push up or down.) Now how can I get the window back up manually, and get to the motor if it does indeed need replacing?

I went in for my routine oil change when the mechanic advised me I had a leak to my 94 Legend. They temporarily fixed this by using an oversized plug.(?) That seemed to remedy the problem but as time went on the little spots on my driveway turned into huge leaks. My mechanic said that the oil pan needed to be changed out and a new gasket kit installed. The job cost me $700 ($300 of labor). That was in Aug 06.

I've had suspicions about my mechanic and how there always seems to be a problem with my car. I have changed mechanics since then. On my last oil change I was advised that I have an oil leak. I had 2 different shops inspect the oil pan/gasket to see if it had really been replaced and both shops said no. One even went as far as to say that they just probably cleaned the pan to look new but upon futher inspection they can definitely say it had not been replaced.

What should I do now? Would getting a lawyer be worth it? I'm leary of going back to the mechanic.

Ford cougar v6. 2001

I have a problem when I'm driving, especially when it comes to slowing down or stopping at lights - when i take the car out of gear and into neutral the revs hold their position or even get higher..!

After various tests the problem is most obvious when coasting, eg Im doing 40 then take it our of gear, feet off all pedals..

Any ideas?

ps: I have no clutch type symptoms, it's changing gear fine and is fine working up through the revs etc.

I have just installed a new radiator on a 97 dodge neon stick-shift. As I went to try and start mt car, it made a humming noise and nothing else. I checked my battery and it has power and is not weak. What could the problem be?

Ok here is the story, my car has had the change oil light on for probably 2 weeks, it didnt say low oil, just change oil, also the temp was regular and I had just put gas in it, I was at a stoplight and all of a sudden it just starts chugging along, for probably about 5 seconds and then it just dies on me, then I start it again and it goes for another 5 seconds or so, then I try to start it again and it just turns over, doesnt start though, I had it towed to my house and now I need to either figure out whats wrong with it myself or pay a crapload to get it towed once again and fixed at an auto servicing place. Any idea what could be wrong with it? Would not changing the oil for 2 weeks after it told me be the case? If I changed my oil myself do you think it would start? I am not that great with cars but I really need some help here. Thanks.

It has a little black security nub thingy on it, so I can't just go to get it copied at walmart. The dealer I called said it would be $45 to get a copy from him, and that seems way too much to me. Does anyone know how I can get another ignition key without spending so much?

I have a BMW E30 320i. On the rocker cover there is a hose that clamps on to the top of it. It's about an inch thick, but i cant really see what the other end attaches to. Can anyone tell me what this hose is called and what it does?

I've had it for a yr and I just got informed that it needs over 3000.00 worth of work done.Big time oil leak is #1.I put 5 qts of oil once a week in it.Plus it needs a new radiator,shocks,some rack pin stuff.I'm financing it,I know I'm dumb but i needed a car,so what if I call the bank and tell them I dont want this car any more.What would happen?

I just found out that my brake line busted and I have no ideal how much I should buy, Anyone know? The line I believe is busted in the back and is leaking down the elbow joint. Should I just replace the whole line, patch it. I dont know. I also called the auto stores and they was no help!

Hello, I have an easy question! I would just like to know what the most necessary things I should have in my car, so far I have a spare tire, a little jack, a lug bar, phillips screw driver, a small rachet set, and some rags. So what should I keep incase of a breakdown or of the such. I also want to maintain good fuel economy so I dont want to weight it down. It is a '85 Fiero GT with little trunk space.

I bought a 97 Ford E-250 van it has a E4OD transmission and, a 5.4 triton V/8 engine.I was ripped off as the transmission started making a shuddering sound when trying to go into the overdrive gear. I had it serviced to no avail. All the other gears are shifting out fine in this automatic.
