I got an Apexi carbon fiber muffler. I have a 2004 hyundai elantra. I am gonna do the mounting myself as I can weld it and bend the pipes that I need. My question is that stock muffler have hooks welded onto the muffler body that get hung fromt he rubber mounts on car's body. I cannot do this as it is a cf muffler. What would be the best way to do this? I have seen pictures of some mufflers that come with instalation kits that they come with a sort of band that gets wrapped around the muffler and then hung from the body, so there is no welding done. Any ideas? and where can I get teh parts needed?

It SHOULD have come with a strap that clamps around the body to weld hangers to, if it didn't I'd call up Apex'i. About your only other option is to make something like those straps or weld to the metal ends of the muffler assuming its a standard stainless muffler. Also make sure you use wire suitable for stainless on any welds on the muffler case.

Why not use some form of muffler patch as a 'glue' to hold the muffler on as properly as drill to small holes and use metallic screws to attach muffler to pipe so as that the muffler can not slide off the pipe?

DON"T put a band around it.
Weld the hangers to the pipe.
