I bought a 97 Ford E-250 van it has a E4OD transmission and, a 5.4 triton V/8 engine.I was ripped off as the transmission started making a shuddering sound when trying to go into the overdrive gear. I had it serviced to no avail. All the other gears are shifting out fine in this automatic.

Do the usual thing. Gamble $100 on a flush and give it a couple hundred miles to improve before you spend the big money. You might clean some gunk out that's making valves and pistons stick.

So what is the question??? I would say yes. It is funny that after the trans service it still dont work. What service did you do or have doun? Change the fluid and not the filter is not a trans service.

yup its time for that rebuild...I just did my 1999 S10 with 98000 mi...cost 1300
