Im going set up a mpfi system for my 3.8, do you need to use a singleplane or can you use a dual. I want a dual becouse of the lower rpm range. I want to use the edlebrock performer intake. Any help would be great.

The reason that a dual plane intake manifold works better at lower rpm's is because the tighter and twistier intake runners help to keep the fuel atomized at lower air speeds. A single plane works better at higher rpm's because the air is moving much faster and keeping the fuel atomized is not as much of an issue. If you are going with mpfi, atomization will be done by the injectors and your only concern will be air flow. Either manifold will work, but a single plane will allow more air flow and not affect low rpm driveability. Most factory mpfi engines use a version of a single plane manifold.

Read the specs. carefully you want power erom 500 rpm. up because it's a torque engine. If in douby give Edelbrock a call. I do know their manifolds overlap specs. greatly
