there is a "zone" in the throttle where the engine purrs, but, push down too far and it cuts out. when cold it idles rough, after driving it idles smooth, but, quite fast.

When warm it sounds like it runs out of gas. let it cool off and after about 2 hours it starts and runs fine.Cold days I can drive it hundreds of miles with no problems at all.Motor never runs hot.Only seems to be affected by the outside air temp.

is there an advantage to waiting until your tank is nearly empty to refill it rather than refilling it when it is 50% or so.

The reason I ask this is because my cars fuel gauge reads incorrectly once the fuel goes under 1/2 tank, so I like to keep it filled up as much as possible.

My car is a mercedes 350sdl turbo (uses diesel).

thanks.

I may have a problem with my fuel injectors in my 02 mitsubishi galant. It keeps hesitating and idles very rough, i just got new spark plugs, wires and coil packs. Someone else on here told me it may be my fuel injectors... so should I try those additives they sell at the store?? Or do I have to bring it somewhere and pay all that money to have it done??!?!

I need to change the oil on a 97 Monte Carlo. I know the basic principals of oil changes - drain oil, remove filter, drain, replace cap, new filter, refill with oil. Specifically I need to know -

Can the oil filter be removed/tightened sufficiently by hand, or is a special tool required, and

How much oil needs to be put in the thing? I know how to check oil levels, but not how to determine how much to put in when changing oil.

I'd gladly take it to a shop, but I cant afford it right now, and I'm sure it hasnt been changed in far too long already. Thanks.

My car is a 98' Toyota Cellica GT Convertable. Over the years occasionally my car will idle low and shut off reguardless of the weather. I have taken it to my mechanic (who has been working on our family cars for 20 years so it is not a case of a bad mechanic) however when I brought it in he was never able to find the problem. I have had the idol intake valve changed and the pcv valve changed out. My car is always up to date on scheduled maintenance. In the past few weeks I have had to give my car a little gas (with out reving the engine) until it is warm then it runs fine however this is EVERY time I start my car now. Once the car is warm it runs like new, and I have no problems when I have to stop and sit idle. I recently had a full diagnostic done on the car at 3 different shops and my car has come back with a fully clean record. Does anyone know what may cause this? A sensor maybe? What do I need to do to get my car working properly. Your help is greatly apreciated.

When it's really hot and your car is parked outside, there is a line of sight remote auto starter. You just leave your A/C button "ON" In the winter you just leave your heater control "ON" I had one 7 years ago, but I moved and gave the car to my Son. He said it must have been uninstalled and the unit was taken. I've tried looking at some retail after market auto stores but can't find one in "Thailand" (really hot here). They make them in China. If anyone knows an auto parts mfgr, or Distributor web site in China or how can I find a listing of Chinese Web sites that translate to English, you can be my guest in Pattaya, Thailand. I have a private 4 rm guesthouse on my property 15 minutes from the beach...Really!

I have a 1985 Ford Ranger and the dashboard lights, emissions and brake, are always on. Does anyone know how to find out where the problem is for the two. How do I fix whatever is causing them to stay on. The brake light stays on even when the e-brake is off and i have no idea why the emissions light is on. Can any one help?

4x4. Already remove caliper, now I just can't figure out what to do next. Is the rotor screw in or what's holding it in place. Local auto parts guy said it should slide off?

I was wondering if it is worth the money. There are a few things I've noticed about it that the security light stays on and it runs good except it has a little hesitation when its stopped. I was wondering what could be causing this and how much it would cost to fix. I don't want to invest a lot of money in it. Thanks for the help.
