I own a 2000 Ford Contour and I noticed my power steering fluid was low. Does it matter what type of fluid I use or can I just throw any old power steering fluid in it?

I checked it, it seems like the key and back light control is in one box, is that true? I injected some lubricate oil to the key slot, but still can't open, so which part should I check to fix the back trunk locker?

When I used to press the A/C button, the engine would labour slightly as the compressor engaged. The compressor is now not engaging but the fuses are fine. Is it likely to be expensive to fix it?

I took off from a stop light 2 days ago and something popped, very loudly, under the car. I actually felt it and thought a tire blew out. Pulled over, checked it, nothing wrong. Drove home. Next day drove the car as usual, no problem. However, the next day I noticed that every time I turned off the car it had a sickening smell, similar to rotten eggs and burning rubber. Subara replaced the CV boot for $135 and said no trouble w/ converter, which we expected it to be. Brought it home and the God awful smell is still there. Could this be like when you have your fluids topped off and the next day you can smell some of the spilled stuff burning off? Or did Subaru screw us and we still need a catalytic converter?

I went to the store came home and half hour later my headlights were still on. We tried turning the daytime running lights off, we tried taking the key out of the ignition, we tried taking the fuses out and putting them back in and the headlights just wont go off no matter what we tried. Does anyone know what the problem is? We have a 2005 chevy malibu. How much will it cost?

So, my Dad is paying for my repairs on my car... He has never really been there for me (except financially) my entire life, but my car broke down in OH today and I live in KY, and I am stranded at a co-workers house for the night... My Dad wouldn't get me a car rental, but he is paying for my towing and repairs for my car tomorrow. I feel really bad because he says he doesn't have the money, but he has a really good job that pays good. The repairs will ONLY hopefully be 300 TOPS! I have no idea what is wrong with it, I just know my left back tire WON'T move. So, I feel really bad that he is paying for my car repairs (and he just fixed my car over the weekend, the stearing rod) my Dad always comes through financially and I am starting to feel horrible.. I ONLY ask him for money/car repairs when I REALLY need it, I am 20 living on my own. What should I do though, because I feel horrible that he is paying for everything, but I can't afford it and my car is ONLY a 2002!!! Help??

My check engine light on my '97 chevy k1500 came on after I had my transmission rebuilt. I had the code read at an advance auto parts store and it read that the o2 sensor 1 bank 1 showed no activity. I replaced this o2 sensor and had my computer reset. about 15mi. down the road the check engine light came back on. I had it scanned again and it came up with the same thing. Now I don't know what to do. any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Rear of my truck starts to hop violently when I am braking. It starts Hopping at about 45 MPH and does not stop until I am stopped. If I stop at speeds slower than 40 it does not Hop though. I HAVE already replaced the rear brake shoes and drums , these are brand spankin new and are nto warped or bad in any way. Also I have replaced the front brake pads. I did not have the rotors turned/replaced They don't have any wear and no Lip on the oustide and there is no shimmy in the steering wheel to indicate warped rotors. another thing is when The truck is at slower speeds 15-0 I can feel a slight pulsing on the brake pedal. This hopping is driving me nuts and I'm at a loss, Any ideas????

My car just died yesturday. It was hiccuping a few days before hand when we would accelerate. Then yesturday we turned a corner on a hill and it died. It kindof acted like it was out of gas when it died, like it was chugging. What is wrong with it? This is a '99 honda civic.

i heard this stuff is good if you experience smoke or a rough engine/ vibration .

i dont really have any of these problems but id like to do this procedure if it will benefit my car. I'm pretty sure none of the previous owners had done this ever - car has about 175k on it.

i want to use diesel purge (i heard lubro moly is the best?) directly into the fuel injector lines (not as a tank additive). I was wondering if anyone had a good tutorial (possibly with pictures) on how to do this on my car - 1991 350sdl mercedes.

I did find one tutorial that calls for buying a fuel filter. Why is this necessary?

thanks.
