Those Mr. clean magic erasers work good. Ive had permanenet magic marker on my kitchen table for years and used everythign on it to get it off. Nothing worked I bought one of those and it came right off after about six years of being there.

provided your paint is in good condition, you can try either diesel fuel on a soft cloth, or go to an auto parts shop and get some wax and grease remover (i have used this for removing marker and poor quality spray can paint on many occasions), it is similar to thiners, but usually not strong enough to affect cured paint.
alternatively, you could use a cut and polish product, or even tar and bug remover

i own a repair shop and you can soak it in some kerosene and it will eventually start coming off, paint thinner will also bring it off but you have to dab it on and really get it off real fast, and its too risky ,it can remove the paint also,id try soaking it some with a damp cloth with kerosene on it,and also try some go-jo hand cleaner on it,and let it soak in to it,between the two of those you can get a lot of it off,i have in the past, good luck with it i hope it works on the white.

I would try a polishing compound (not rubbing compound). If your car has clear coat make sure the compound is clear coat safe.
