I have a 96 Honda Accord with a 5-speed. In any gear, there is a deep growl from 1800-2000 RPM. It sounds a little bit similar to the engine being bogged down. At any other engine speed, the sound is absent. The power output in this band doesn't seem to be affected at all. I was just wondering if anybody has any ideas about what this noise could be. Also, the noise only occurs if the car is in gear. With the clutch engaged or when in neutral, the sound is also not present.

I have mildew stains on the tan convertible top of my mustang. I have tried scrubbing them out with a brush when washing my car and they aren't coming out very well. Anyone know what I can use to get them out, and won't damage the top in the process?

i bought a car with a full 12 mths mot.when i examined it,it had a badly corroded sill,worn suspension bushes,a front upper strut needs replacing,hand brake very bad.also a very high clutch pedal that only bites when pedal is let right out.can i complain to garage that MOTed it?

the engine that i bought from the junk yard was used only 50k on it, my old one had 211k and was starting to smoke, I think i put all vaccum line on , I used the old intake manifold gasket It still looked good , should i have replaced it, checked to see if i had any leaks their was none, kept the old sensor on the engine block onlchanged the intake manifold. need help. For got to say this is on and 1995 Dodge Neon. thanks

front drivers side spring went within 2 weeks of me owning the car puncturing the front tyre , i got a three month warranty when i bought it but when i phoned up the garage to try and claim on my warranty they said that the spring wasnt covered under the warranty, i thought that the suspension would be covered under the warranty .can any one help .....

Two problems: the left rear door sticks, and I don't know the name of the part I need. It's the bottom roller thing, that helps it slide (I know nothing about cars, can you tell?). Also, the fan for my heater stopped working today. It was making a really weird noise, but then it just stopped working altogether. Could it just be a fuse, or vould the motor be done? I have a 98 Acura Integra with 135k miles. Check engine light went on giving me code for misfire in cylinders 1 & 2. Hadnt changed the plugs in about 80,000 miles so I decided to change plugs, wires, distributor cap, and rotor.
Forgot to disconnect negative terminal to battery when doing the job(dont know if that matters). I also forgot to reset the computer when I finished (dont know if that matters either)
OK.. so finished the job, started the car and it ran perfectly. Very smooth, no more rough idle, and the check engine light wasnt on anymore. I let the car idle for a minute or two then shut it off, cleaned up my tools and left my cousins garage to go home. I got 4 blocks and the engine died. It cranks with plenty of power but wouldnt start at all. just cranking...
I checked the fuse for the ignition system, and fuel pump and some other fuses.. I reset the computer (dont know if it was too late) ... checked my connection... nothing... anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

I was driving along in my renault clio mk1 and suddenly the car just cut out and i pulled over. I have tried bump starting it but nothing happens and when i turn the key i can hear the starter motor solenoid but thats it. And before you all ask, yes i have petrol in it!!!

Last night while I was driving, my car just shut off (of course it was raining). When I tried to start the car again, it wouldn't even turn over. However the lights, radio and my daughters DVD player were still working. I am way way overdue for an oil change. I'm not sure if it is an engine problem since the check engine light did NOT go on, nor was there any smoke coming from under the hood and my temp gauge didn't show any overheating. Anyone know what might cause this? I have a 2002 Santa Fe with 50k miles on it ... any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I know that torque wrenches are supposed to allow you to tighten nuts and bolts to certain tightness (torque) - for example some bolts on a car need to be tightened to a set specific torque.

I've got a 1/4 - 3/8 torque wrench set... looking at it for the first time.... what bit of it shows the reading of torque... cause I just can't understand it.
