the engine that i bought from the junk yard was used only 50k on it, my old one had 211k and was starting to smoke, I think i put all vaccum line on , I used the old intake manifold gasket It still looked good , should i have replaced it, checked to see if i had any leaks their was none, kept the old sensor on the engine block onlchanged the intake manifold. need help. For got to say this is on and 1995 Dodge Neon. thanks

Any time an intake or exhaust manifold is removed, or a used one is purchased, it should be checked with a straight edge. Make sure it is not warped prior to installation.

PS - Never reuse a gasket of any kind.

You need to explain, what it is that you are asking.
If you changed your block, but switched the intake manifolds, then you need to check the electronics on the new block.
I would start by looking for spark. If you have it then I would check the timing, even though it's a crank position sensor. If you have spark, I would prime the intake with a cap full of of gas. If it begins to run then start to look at fuel system issues.

i own a repair shop,and as a golden rule never re-use an old gasket on an engine ,any gasket for that matter once they have been hot,they wont ever seat right again,you,ll have to replace that one with a new one,its going to cause you a lot of problems,and it may leak a lot of coolant out on it also,but you need it off of there and a new one put on,good luck with it i hope this helps.

Replace with a new gasket - never reuse a gasket !!!
Should also use th one that came with the motor if you have it

Old gasket new leaks. New gasket no leaks. Nuff said.
